What is the currency and suggested/most common payment method in the city?

The currency in the Netherlands is Euro. Most payments are done through debit card (Maestro). Credit card and cash are also possible in most places

What is the electric socket/plug type in the Netherlands?

Type C and F. Should an attendee come from a country with a different electric plug type, please bring an adapter. 

What is the Dutch business culture?

Business culture in Dutch can vary between companies and persons. Overall, Dutch business meetings tend to be straight to the point and fast-paced. Honesty and reliability are highly-valued traits in people. Unpleasant or difficult topics are tackled head-on and discussed rather then avoided.

What is the language of the event?

The whole event will be in English.

What is the national language of the country?

The national language of the Netherlands is Dutch. 

What percentage of the population speaks English?

The Dutch are known to be a multilingual population and have high proficiency in English. Approximately 90-93% of the Dutch population claim to speak English well.

How will the weather be during the duration of the event?

In January, the weather in Groningen is on average the coldest throughout the year. It is forecasted to be around 1-8 degrees Celcius (real feel: 0 to -6 degrees). Therefore, it will be very cold, very windy, with a slight rain.

The event is only available for selected scale-ups. The selection process will be finalized next week. Please contact your contact person at Unknown Group.

If I'm late, can I still enter the event?

Yes, it is still possible to join the event if you’re running late. Please inform your contact person from Unknown Group about this so we can prepare accordingly.

Will there be a place to store coats, bags, or luggages safely at the event?

Yes, there will be wardrobes at the event location.

Is the event location accessible for people on wheelchair/disabled?

Can I bring my kids to the event?

No, due to practical reasons, it is not allowed to bring children to this event.
